Minimum order (MOQ) for shisha charcoal is 18 tons of charcoal (20 “ft container).
But you can order multiple sizes/packaging with a minimum volume of 2 tons per size/packaging, as long as the total volume is 18+ tons.
Can I order less than 18 tons? Can I order just 1 ton?
Theoretically, yes, our factory can accept orders with a smaller amount, even 500 kg in some cases is OK. For example, for some local Indonesian shisha cafes in Bali and Jakarta, we are selling at 500 kg batches.
But for the shisha charcoal export is a different issue. The main problem is that shipping lines do not accept LCL (Less container load, ie partial shipment) for shisha charcoal.
So, even if you take 1 ton or one pallet, you still have to pay for the whole container delivery cost.
In this case, the cost of your charcoal become extreamly high. For example, one ton of charcoal costs 1500 USD per ton, and delivery to Mersin, Turkey is 3600 USD for 20 “ft container, so the total cost of charcoal will be 5100 USD at your port. Meaning one tone will cost you 5100 USD. It is cheaper to buy it in Turkey than import from Indonesia.
Different story if you take a full container, let’s say 20 tons in 20″ft will be 1500 USD x 20 tons = 30.000 USD and plus the cost of shipping is 33600 USD, then we divide it by tons, and one ton will cost you just 1.680 USD.
Can I order different sizes in one container?
Yes, you can order different sizes, shapes, and packaging types in one container. Just remember to keep at least 2 tons for each size/shape.
Another important thing is that while the cost of charcoal usually remains the same, the cost of printing, if you print just a small amount, is much higher.
For example, if you order standard inner box packaging for cube 25 mm (DC250gsm, E flute, Vernish finishing, CMYK) offset printing, with volume of 25.000 pcs (for 40″ft container) will cost you aprox 85 USD per ton, while the same type of the box with the same specification if you order it just 2000 pcs will cost you 212 USD per ton.
So, smaller printing amount – higher the printing costs. Plus, remember that good printing houses will not accept too smalla printing amount, only small printing houses will take it for printing.
